ifilm English to start airing new series ‘Bread and Basil’

ifilm English TV’s new series ‘Bread and Basil’ has been scheduled to go on the channel’s playlist from February 11, 2020.

Airing of the series, produced by Mahmoud Razavi and directed by Farzad Motamen, will start on Tuesday night.

The series is about Abbas, Farid, Morad, Siavash and Hamed, five young men who have been friends with each other ever since childhood and they’re now running a traditional restaurant together.

After suffering a series of romantic setbacks, and upon the advice of Aqa Amou, their mentor and self-proclaimed bachelor, in order to safeguard their friendship, they take a pledge not to get involved with women for the rest of their lives.

Whoever breaks this pledge relinquishes his share of the traditional restaurant.

Through a series of wacky adventures, weird encounters and crazy twists, they find out that honoring such a pledge is easier said than done.

Among the cast list are Saeed Pirdoust, Farhad Ayish, Shaqayeq Dehqan, Borzou Arjmand, Reza Davoudnejad, Amir-Hossein Rostami, and Melika Sharifinia.

‘Bread and Basil’, produced in 2010, is to replace the series ‘The Enigma of the Shah’ to be broadcast at 21:00 GMT.

ifilm English will also repeat each episode of the series the following day at 02:00, 06:00, 13:00 (all GMT times). It is comprised of 15 episodes.
